The Centerpiece Approach

Small companies want big results. Many of the most innovative startups know the benefit of a comprehensive communications strategy, but don't know where to start -- nor do they have the big budgets to match their big goals. Targeting small- and medium-sized businesses, Centerpiece PR offers a one-stop shop for your communications and PR needs. From planning and press materials to message development and media outreach, Centerpiece leverages nearly two decades of experience to develop bespoke programs with maximum results.

Lisa Hagendorf is a top-level PR and communications executive with nearly two decades of experience, working with iconic global brands, and specializing in consumer-tech startups. Her brand roster includes in-house leadership positions at Ladders, Playboy, and Zinio, and her clientele at Edelman includes Netflix. In 2013, Lisa founded her own agency, Centerpiece Public Relations, providing expertise on communications, media relations, and brand positioning. She offers her clients a unique combination of communications expertise, media know-how, and boundless enthusiasm.

Previously, Lisa was the Vice President of Public Relations at Ladders, an online and mobile job-matching service for career-driven professionals, where she provided executive leadership on PR, corporate communications, and events. Once Director of Corporate Communications for magazine publisher Hachette Filipacchi (the U.S. publishing division of Lagardere, since acquired by Hearst), she then transitioned to Lagardere’s mobile-content division, Cellfish Media (now Bandsintown Group). Additionally, she was Vice President of Public Relations for Zinio, the world's largest publisher of digital magazines.

From 2003-2008, Lisa was the Director of Public Relations for digital media and global licensing at Playboy Enterprises, where she spearheaded publicity for and Playboy Mobile, as well as Playboy-branded products, respectively. During this time, she was based in the UK for two years, where she launched the first London office. Lisa started her career at Edelman, where she worked in the consumer groups in both New York and San Francisco, managing the Netflix account.

Lisa earned a BA in English from Penn State University. A life-long New Yorker, she recently moved to Parkland, Florida, with her family.

We can’t recommend Lisa more highly. Not only does she have extensive media relationships and drive strong PR results, she is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is extremely responsive, proactive and a strategic, out-of-the-box thinker who has an acute attention to detail while also being able to see the bigger picture. When hiring Lisa you know you are getting the most senior level of expertise and an invaluable team member and partner.

B2B businesses are built upon credibility, and credibility is built though press. As a startup client-services company, I hired Centerpiece PR to help us establish credibility in our industry. Lisa helped us create a professional, credible façade that we were able to build our company behind. My company has grown by leaps and bounds since working with Centerpiece PR, partly as a result of the image they helped create for us. They’re an excellent partner for technology, startup, and growth companies.

DealNews began working with Lisa Hagendorf of Centerpiece Public Relations when our Head of PR left suddenly. He’d done both spokesperson work and media placement, a rarity. Lisa is very strategic and understands both PR and brand marketing at a high level. Our small company (100 people) is unabashedly a PR powerhouse, with multiple top-tier placements each week. Lisa was challenged with maintaining our trajectory while we searched for a new hire. Lisa both maintained our key relationships and helped us screen candidates. She also identified and trained current employees as expert spokespeople. The replacement person we hired as head of PR, through Lisa’s work, has been a great hire, and with media placements separated from spokesperson work, our company is now operationally superior than before we started with Lisa.
